Advisory

A note with CVSS 9.1 for component BC-ESI-UDDI was released by SAP on 10.03.2020. The correction/advisory 2806198 was described with "[CVE-2020-6203] Path Manipulation in SAP NetWeaver UDDI Server(Services Registry)" and affects the system type Java.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.

The vulnerability addressed is directory traversal (write) within Java.

Risk specification

Services Registry allows an unauthenticated attacker to exploit insufficient validation of path information provided by users, resulting in an directory traversal vulnerability which allows write files to the server.

Solution

SAP NetWeaver UDDI Server has been updated to apply a strengthend path validation
