Advisory

On 10.12.2019 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within SAP Enable Now.

SAP Note 2845183 addresses "[CVE-2019-0405] Multiple Security vulnerabilities in SAP Enable Now release 1911" to prevent information disclosure command injection with a medium risk for exploitation.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance, the team suggests.

Risk specification

Under certain conditions SAP Enable Now allows an unauthenticated attacker to access information regarding network configuration or existence of a particular user which can be used to construct a list of users, which would otherwise be restricted. Insufficient input validation also allows an attacker to input commands into the CSV files, which will be executed when opened.

Solution

SAP Enable Now has been updated to prevent information desclosure and also to prevent entering data in the CSV file.
