Advisory

A note with CVSS 9.8 for component FS-LMS was released by SAP on 09.06.2020. The correction/advisory 2928570 was described with "Ghostcat' Apache Tomcat AJP Vulnerability in SAP Liquidity Management for Banking" and affects the system type Java.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

The vulnerability addressed is command execution within Java.

Risk specification

Due to a misconfiguration of SAP Liquidity Management for Banking, the Apache Tomcat listens to AJP calls allowing an attacker to remotely execute commands on the system.

Solution

The AJP port should be diabled in the configuration if not needed.

Affected System

SAP Netweaver Application Server Java is part of the SAP NetWeaver Application Platform. It provides the complete infrastructure for deploying and running Java applications.
