Advisory

A note with CVSS 7.5 for component XX-PART-WILY was released by SAP on 13.10.2020. The correction/advisory 2971638 was described with "[CVE-2020-6369] Hard-coded Credentials in CA Introscope Enterprise Manager (Affected products: SAP Solution Manager and SAP Focused Run)" and affects the system type SAP Solution Manager & SAP Focused Run .

A workaround exists, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process .

The vulnerability addressed is insecure installation defaults within SAP Solution Manager & SAP Focused Run .

This note has been re-released with updated ‘Solution’ information. - CA Introscope Enterprise Manager allow unauthenticated attackers to bypass the authentication if the default passwords for Admin and Guest have not been changed by the administrator.

Solution

Ensure to use individual passwords for the standard users Admin and Guest. Use the SolMan Setup procedure to set new passwords. The solution is to deploy an additional Enterprise Manager plugin that blocks the passwords for the pre-defined users Admin and Guest if they still have default values.  Although an alternative solution exists, it is advisable to apply the correction! This is the workaround, which was suggested by the SAP security experts: "You need to change the default passwords of the users Admin and Guest. For more information how to do this check note 2310713. ".
