Advisory

A note with CVSS 6.3 for component FI-CF-INF was released by SAP on 24.11.2020. The correction/advisory 2989719 was described with "Missing Authorization check in S/4HANA (Central Finance)" and affects the system type ABAP.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process .

The vulnerability addressed is missing authorization check within ABAP.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. SAP security note 2495144 contains a new authorization concept for Central Finance, which comprises the manual creation of authorization object F_CFIN_SRC. For some releases, manual creation of authorization objects in the SAP namespace is not possible.

A report is provided which automatically creates the authorization object F_CFIN_SRC.
