Advisory
A note with CVSS 5.4 for component BI-RA-CR was released by SAP on 10.01.2023. The correction/advisory 3266006 was described with "[CVE-2023-0018] Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (Central management console)" and affects the system type BI/BO platform.
A workaround exists, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance.
The vulnerability addressed is bi/bo platform within BI/BO platform.

Due to improper input sanitization in the CMC application, an authenticates attacker can upload/modify crystal reports containing a malicious payload.Solution
The URL parameters are now properly encoded to prevent a successful XSS attack. Although an alternative solution exists, it is advisable to apply the correction! This is the workaround, which was suggested by the SAP security experts: "Cross-site scripting/request forgery filter engine on IDS/IPS/firewall systems that scan the url parameter in the request.".
