On 11.04.2023 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within ABAP.

SAP Note 3269352 addresses "[CVE-2023-29189] HTTP Verb Tampering vulnerability in SAP CRM (WebClient UI)" to prevent http verb tampering with a medium risk for exploitation.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process, the team suggests.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. SAP CRM WebClient UI allows an authenticated attacker to modify HTTP verbs in requests to the web server resulting in an HTTP Verb Tampering vulnerability.

The application now properly checks for the right usage of the HTTP Verbs.
