A note with CVSS 8.5 for component EPM-BPC-NW was released by SAP on 13.12.2022. The correction/advisory 3271091 was described with "[CVE-2022-41268] Privilege escalation vulnerability in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation" and affects the system type ABAP.
A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.
The vulnerability addressed is insufficient security function within ABAP.
Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. This note has been re-released with minor textual changes. In some SAP standard roles in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, a transaction code reserved for customer is used. By implementing such a transaction code, a malicious user may execute unauthorized transaction functionality.Solution
Regenerate the profile of role SAP_BPC_ADMIN to correct the transaction code from standard role SAP_BPC_ADMIN.
