On 10.10.2023 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within Java.
SAP Note 3371873 addresses "Update 1 to Security Note 3324732: [CVE-2023-31405] Log Injection vulnerability in SAP NetWeaver AS for Java (Log Viewer)" to prevent log injection with a medium risk for exploitation.
A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance, the team suggests.

SAP NetWeaver AS for Java fails to authenticate when TOTPLoginModule is in use which fails even when the correct password was entered.Solution
This note fixes solely the issue with the TOTPLoginModule and is an update to Security Note 3324732.
