A note with CVSS 5.0 for component TM-CP was released by SAP on 09.07.2024. The correction/advisory 3469958 was described with "[CVE-2024-37171] Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in SAP Transportation Management (Collaboration Portal)" and affects the system type ABAP.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

The vulnerability addressed is server-side request forgery (ssrf) within ABAP.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. SAP Transportation Management Collaboration Portal allows an authenticated attacker to manipulate a vulnerable web application to send crafted requests on behalf of the application, resulting in a Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability.

Solution

Untrusted input is no longer considered by internal logic due to hardening of the service handler.
