On 12.11.2024 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within ABAP.
SAP Note 3498470 addresses "[CVE-2024-47587] Missing authorization check in SAP Cash Management (Cash Operations)" to prevent none with a low risk for exploitation.
A workaround does exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as none, the team suggests.
Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. Cash Operation did not have adaptations for handling some authorization checks.Solution
With the corrected selection statements, users will see only the bank accounts that match their authorization assignments in cash operation applications. Please implement the security note 3392049 first as prerequisite and implement this security note afterwards. This ensures consistency of data between Cash Operations and Bank Account Management applications. Please implement the Correction Instructions or Support Packages referenced in this SAP Security Note. Circumstances exist that prevent the timely installation of a patch provided by the manufacturer. In such cases, you may consider applying the suggested workaround as a temporary or compensating mitigation: "Update in progress".
