Advisory

A note with CVSS 6.3 for component BC-WD-JAV was released by SAP on 14.01.2025. The correction/advisory 3540108 was described with "[CVE-2025-0067] Missing Authorization check in SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java" and affects the system type Java.

A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.

The vulnerability addressed is missing authorization check within Java.

Missing authority checks are still the most common security defect related to authorizations in custom code. SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java permits an authenticated attacker to create JCo connection entries, enabling remote function calls to or from the application server.

Solution

The vulnerable service endpoint was removed, and the same functionality is now accessible through the service endpoint /webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tc~wd~tools~admin/Explorer#, which enforces proper authorization checks.
