On 13.12.2022 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within BI/BO platform.
SAP Note 3239475 addresses "[CVE-2022-41267] Server-Side Request Forgery vulnerability in SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform" to prevent cross-site request forgery (xsrf) with a hot news risk for exploitation.
A workaround does exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance, the team suggests.

SAP Business Objects platform allows authenticated attacker with normal priviliges to upload/replace any file on OS level of the Business Objects server.Solution
The affected application has been enhanced and it is mandatory to configure the allowed destinations to support a 'Secure by default' apporach. Circumstances exist that prevent the timely installation of a patch provided by the manufacturer. In such cases, you may consider applying the suggested workaround as a temporary or compensating mitigation: "For pre-fixed versions (Seen in 3239475): please refer KBA 1759784 for workaround steps in detail.For fixed version all existing and new schedules to File System destinations which are not explicitly allowed via command line or allow list file will fail with an error, for more details see:2477817 - Error "CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged" when scheduling a report to file system after upgrade to 4.2 SP09 Patch 1100, 4.3 SP02 Patch 800, 4.3 SP03".

SAP BI is a module meant for producing business insights and expands its power in combination with HANA DB and also exists as BW/4 HANA. Due to processing sensitive business data, the Data security is of utmost importance.
