A note with CVSS 5.0 for component BC-BMT-WFM was released by SAP on 09.07.2024. The correction/advisory 3458789 was described with "[CVE-2024-34689] Server-Side Request Forgery in SAP Business Workflow (WebFlow Services)" and affects the system type ABAP.
A workaround does not exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as monthly patch process.
The vulnerability addressed is server-side request forgery (ssrf) within ABAP.

This note concerns a server-side request forgery vulnerability in SAP Business Workflow (WebFlow Services), which has been split into 3 notes. 3483993 is a prerequisite note for note 3458789 that implements an allowlist for WebFlow Services callback URLs. Note 3485805 then explains how to activate and configure the allowlist.Solution
An allowlist mechanism was introduced to check Callback URL's allowing only maintained URL's. Note this allowlist is activated by default. If you are using the described feature in SAP Business Workflow you need to configure the allowlist as described in the manual correction instructions which refers to note 3485805.
