On 08.10.2024 a security relevant correction has been released by SAP SE. The manufacturer resolves an issue within Java.
SAP Note 3503462 addresses "[CVE-2024-47594] Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal (KMC)" to prevent cross-site scripting (xss) with a medium risk for exploitation.
A workaround does exist, according to SAP Security Advisory team. It is advisable to implement the correction as part of maintenance, the team suggests.

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal allows an authenticated attacker to access the browser session of a registered victim via a crafted script and tricking the user into clicking the corresponding link, resulting in an impact on the confidentiality and integrity of the web browser session.Solution
The property being manipulated in the request is now encoded which prevents execution in HTML. Circumstances exist that prevent the timely installation of a patch provided by the manufacturer. In such cases, you may consider applying the suggested workaround as a temporary or compensating mitigation: "Update in progress".
